Where Is Lake Kachura Situated In Pakistan

Lower Kachura Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Pakistan, and is also known as the “Kachura lakes” because of its rich flora and fauna. There are numerous hiking trails along the shores of the lake. It is an excellent spot for mountain climbing and trout fishing. It has a relatively low temperature throughout the year, ranging from minus ten degrees Celsius during winter to about ten degrees Celsius during summer.

Upper Kachura Lake is a small lake that is about 3 kilometres from Lower Kachura. The two lakes are separated by a high mountain, which makes them extremely remote. You can only drive to the lower lake by road, which is the most popular and accessible one.

About Kachura Lake

The Kachura Lake is located 8200 feet above sea level and is home to a number of exotic birds, including tiger salamanders and the magnificent Golden Eagle. It is split into two parts – Upper and Lower – but both are equally beautiful. While Upper Kachura is often visited by travelers, it remains mostly undeveloped and rarely visited. This means that there are not many facilities available.

The Kachura Lake is located in the Skardu District of Gilgit-Baltistan. The former is known as Shangrila Lake.
